Tutor have important roles in SBM. First, they have to guide practical or technical ability of students in a particular course.
There are two type tutors in SBM, part time tutors anda full time tutor. Part time tutor is tutor hired for a specific course and have responsibility around that course, such as:
  • tutoring,
  • assist lecturer in checking student attendance,
  • assist lecturer in preparing course material,
  • assist lecturer in conducting test, examination, and gradin
Full time tutor has two type job, i.e. teaching and learning jobs, research and administration jobs. Full time tutor, have possibility to be a lecturer, if they meet the criteria.
Therefore, addition conditions for full time tutor are writing capability, for writing research report, journal article or case.

What is the criteria of SBM tutor?
There are some factors to be considered to determine the criteria needed for selecting a tutor.
First of all, is SBM values, i.e. ethical values, integrity. So, tutor of SBM have to have high ethical values, and high integrity: honest, opened to themself, and has spirit to excell good ethical values in conduct their class, aligned with the SBM mission to create ethical entrepreneurs. The implication of SBM values, the tutors have to have ability to build students discipline.
Second, as part of SBM education system, lecturing and tutoring will be held in English and learning activities mostly done to promote action learning in group and as experience based learning. The implication to tutor requirements are: tutor have to speak English fluently, able to promote good team environment, assure that all team member share their knowledge and got lesson learned from their learning activities. Tutors themself have to work in team (one of faculty member remind me about this, she denied a tutor to be in her team because the tutor too ambitious to make herself mor valuable compare to other tutors; it is about make all the students got equal treatment)...to be continued
